Today I visited Barnet, a town near me that qualifies as a charity shoppers heaven - 7 all squeezed down one road! The prices of the vintage pieces aren't too high either, unlike in a few of my more local charity shops who seem to bump up the price of anything that could be deemed retro or vintage. Luck was clearly on my side today as I found some great pieces.

First up this cream crochet blouse. It's a lovely thick knit with pretty scalloped edges that I think will look perfect tucked into my levi shorts with a chunky belt. It also slightly reminds me of the doilies my nan keeps on her dining room table. The photo really doesn't do the top justice and for £3.50 it was my  best bargain of the day.

I found these two jumpers hanging next to each other and couldn't decide between the two so just bought both, I'm a sucker for a good pattern. In all honesty I definitely don't need anymore winter jumpers and will probably sell both of these. (If anyone's interested leave a comment)

I'll end with what is probably my favourite charity shop buy EVER. A black spaghetti strap sundress with sunflowers on it! I've been after a sunflower dress for, no exaggeration, years. I had an image of exactly what I wanted in my mind and no dress ever lived up to these imaginary expectations, until today. I haven't actually tried said dress on yet, I was going to buy it whether it fitted or not as I knew it would sell well anyway. I'm preparing myself for the worst possible scenario, that I will have to part with my baby.. outcome to follow.

Just a casual outfit post today, it does however feature two of my favourite finds at the moment. I love love love this straw bag, I feel like the black makes it a little less beachy and provides the appropriate amount of summeryness (yes I'm aware that's not a real word) in a bag for the UK. Believe it or it's from M&S! I also love my new denim jacket. I've got at least 4 others sitting in my wardrobe but this one has just the right oversized fit without swamping me and the denim has faded into the perfect acid wash tone. It's originally from George at Asda but I picked it up in a local charity shop for £8 which is definitely a bit steep for what I'd usually pay in a charity shop, but I simply couldn't resist. Off to town now for a little browse round the shops.

So I'm home from my 2 weeks in paradise. I went to Kefalonia for anyone who's interested, a Greek island that I've been going to since I was 5. It really is a beautiful island, loads of white sandy beaches and crystal clear water, extremely friendly locals, quaint little villages full of traditional Greek tavernas that serve the most amazing food and a hell of a lot of sun! They were having a heatwave during my time there and the temperatures hit up to 40°, usually something that my fairly pale complexion wouldn't handle too well but since I'd already been to Faliraki this year I tanned pretty well, in fact I'd go as far to say I look like a different race in comparison to my usual pasty self.

Here are some snaps from the holiday, I tried to include a few outfit posts but it's difficult to find a willing photographer when your mum's running round trying to stop your 9 year old brother from acting like a lunatic.

Had to include these last ones simply for their comical value. Photos of your own facial expressions during watersports - priceless.

I absolutely adore these shoes I bought from New Look yesterday. The ankle cuffs add something unusual and a bit of edge to my outfits. I already own way too many black heels but I justified the purchase with my student discount, taking them down to only £26.99. Plus they look just as good with dresses and skirts as they do with trousers rolled up at the ankle. How could I say no ay.

My first official outfit post. Wore this today for my nan's 60th birthday and spent the day boating along the river Lee eating cake and picnic food, helping my brother attempt to catch a fish and generally basking in the last of the nice British weather. My shoes remind me of boats and sailing so, although a tad inappropriate, I couldn't resist wearing them. Also, please excuse my horrifically chipped nails - I'd say they never usually look like this but I'd be lying to you, I'm such a lazy nail painter.
